Working together with other researchers and educators is central to the mission of the UMaine PERL. We are working with local teachers to build a community of interaction where information flows between university and school, researcher and instructor, so that the teaching and learning of physics is better understood. To that end, we are active in several areas:
Every spring or summer, the UMaine PERL hosts a high school physics teachers meeting. For more information on past and present meetings, click here.
For years, we have hosted a collaborative of high school teachers who meet on a monthly basis during the school year, discussing issues of physics teaching and learning with each other and with members of the UMaine Physics Education Research Laboratory. For more information, click here.
