Dr. Halloun is an associate professor of physics and science education
at The Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon. In September 1993, he took
a leave from LU to join the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Arizona
State University and assume charge of Research and Evaluation in the NSF
supported Modeling Instruction project.
Prof. Halloun collaborates with Prof. David Hestenes of ASU in the development of the Modeling Theory of Instruction and related curriculum materials.
He is also involved in the assessment of student and public understanding of science and mathematics. Among the instruments that he has developed in collaboration with ASU/LU faculty are:
